厄瓜多尔地震

4月16日世界标准时间23点58分（当地时间18点58分），厄瓜多尔遭遇了7.8级地震，给国内造成了重创。

至少659人遇难，3万人受伤。

此次浅层地震是近40年来对该国影响最为严重的一次地震，厄瓜多尔西海岸的穆依斯内镇损失惨重。有人担忧地震余波还可能会引发潜在海啸灾害。虽然海啸风险现在已经过去，但此次地震仍造成了大面积毁坏。据报道，已产生了一百多次余震。

瓜亚斯省、马纳比省、圣多明哥、里奥斯省、埃斯梅拉达斯和加拉帕戈斯省已经宣布进入紧急状态，上述几个省均在该国的海岸线上。救援工作和生存者搜救工作目前正在进行。已经调遣了部队士兵在西北部帮助开展救援工作，但山体滑坡使士兵难以到达一些地区。此外，国际救援队已经抵达该国。

马纳维省受损最为严重，佩德纳莱斯镇接近地震地区。据报道，马纳维省南部城市已经夷为平地，波托维耶霍市也遭受了重创。
