Flood in England
Heavy rain swept across the UK over the weekend of 22 and 23 December, with more forecast to come. This has resulted in flooding across the country, particularly affecting south-west England and Wales.
As of 24 December, the Environment Agency have issued 140 flood warnings and 261 flood alerts, covering every region of the country.
The wet conditions have persisted since the flooding at the end of November, causing further disruption as the already saturated ground receives further downpours.
Dozens of homes have been evacuated due to the flooding and there are concerns that some rivers, such as the Thames and Severn, will flood.
