Oil spill in Gambia
The main fuel depot in the Gambia, located in Mandinari – Kombo North experienced an oil spill through a ruptured submerged pipe during a transfer into the River Gambia. This occurred on the 28 May 2022 at 14:00hrs GMT with 70 metric tonnes of Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) discharged into the river and land.
