Flooding in Bolivia

Heavy rainfall and flooding affected Bolivia’s eastern Santa Cruz region, particularly around El Torno and nearby communities, causing the Piraí River to overflow. The event resulted in at least 20 reported fatalities, with around two dozen people reported missing.

The floods led to significant displacement, with approximately 2,100 families evacuated, and disrupted access to several towns. Rescue and relief operations were carried out amid ongoing weather alerts.
